Understanding Women Better

I think an ideal title to this title would be
Not
Understanding Women and you’ll see what I mean.
You see, I have read so many articles recently stating that there aren’t “real men” anymore and that modern day men are too ‘sissy’ and ‘metrosexual’. Quite frankly, this is confusing as there are a number of things that have changed since the last time “men were men”. Women have equal opportunities for jobs these days and a good number of them make a decent bundle.  The stereotype of the “man’s man” of the times past would have been hit with several sexual discrimination lawsuits in recent times so, that makes it rather confusing.
Bear with me as I rant many things I find mind-boggling about women.

How Many “Shades of Grey” For A Nigerian Woman?

You’ve probably heard all the noise about the book  Fifty Shades of Grey by British author E.L James and you’re wondering what makes it a best-seller. I’m going to try and demystify the book for those of you who haven’t read it and then leave you to decide whether it’ll be worth your while.

‘Only educated youths can move the nation forward’

-BY DAYO ADESULU

If the youths are not educated, Nigeria cannot move forward, talk less of being able to fulfilling the vision 20:2020.”  This was the remark of a less privileged, Adesoji Adeshina who despite his humble background studied hard to have scholarships both in College and university.
The 17-year-old boy who emerged best graduating student at Edgewood College, Lekki, Lagos, said that as a less privilege person, the only way to attract the sympathy of people was to take his academic seriously. According to Adeshina, his success story began when he came second at the Lagos State spelling bee and subsequently became the deputy governor of Lagos State for one day in 2010.

How “Typos” Can Kill Your Career

I can bet most of us have come across what has been referred to as ‘typos’ or ‘errors of ignorance’; which are commonly (and especially nowadays) found (well embedded) in a written matter.
By way of definition ‘errors of ignorance’ are simply put, spelling errors caused by ignorance, while typographical errors (popularly known as ‘typos’) are mistakes made by accident while typing or transcribing something. For the sake of this write-up, I’ll refer to both errors as ‘typos’.
An informal comment posted in an on-line chat, a formal article, a paragraph in a memo, or even a simple comment on a blog, which could have been informative, engaging and even entertaining suddenly, leaves a bad taste in the readers’ mouth as a result of avoidable errors. Some people call them “printer’s devil”.

The Five Hallmarks of Highly Respected Achievers

I’ve been working on a research project for a few weeks that involves identifying the characteristics that describe highly driven, achievement-oriented people who are also among the most well-respected in any organization. The intersection between drive and respect is an important one, because we all know people who are highly driven but think nothing of running others over along the way. And, we know examples of people who are respected but stagnant.
